University, Faculty of
Biology-Geology in 1987. I got my Ph.D. from the same
University in 1996.
I am working at the Department of Geology, Babes-Bolyai
University and at the Institute of Speleology "Emil
Racovita"

I am/was involved in the following international projects:
- Speleothem Pole-Equator-Pole Transect III (part of PAGES program)
led by Dr. Stein-Erik LAURITZEN (Dept. of Geology, Bergen University, Norway).
The aims of this project is to reconstruct the Quaternary palaeoclimate throughout
the Europe and Africa on the basis of uranium/thorium dating and stable isotope
analysis performed on speleothems.
- IGCP 448 - World Correlation on Karst Geology (led by Prof. Yuan
DAOXIAN, Institute of Karst Research, Guilin, China);
- INTIMATE (INTegration of Ice core, MArine and TErrestrial records;
INQUA program) - cooperation with Dept. of Quaternary Geology, Lund University,

- Scarisoara Ice Core Project - Paleoclimate and paleoenvironment
reconstruction of the last 3,500 years based on the ice core recovered from
